Dream Town Chicago Photo Contest to Publish Winners in New Photography Book

Dream Town Realty is holding a photo contest for amateur and professional photographers to get their pictures published in a coffee table book about Chicago. Grand Prize is $2,500 and the cover. Cash prizes will be awarded for first, second and third places and all winners will be published in a new, full-color portrait book available to the public.

Chicago, IL, April 17, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Dream Town Realty, a leading company for online real estate in Chicago, announces its first-ever "Chicago in Focus" photo contest for amateur and professional photographers. Winners of the contest will be published in a bound coffee table book on life in Chicago. The company is awarding a total of $4,500 in cash prizes and all winners will receive a complimentary copy of the publication. Photography contest submissions will be accepted now through June 15th on Dream Town's web site.

Images selected for the publication will be printed in a 60+ page, perfect bound portrait book called "Chicago in Focus," which will be available to the public. Cash prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place winners. The Grand Prize is $2,500, plus the cover of the book. Two (2) second-place winners will receive $500 each and four (4) third-place winners will get $250 each. Honorable mention photographs will be published in the book along with the prize-winning images.

"This is a good opportunity for some photographers to get their first published work, while others will simply have another credit for their portfolio," said Yuval Degani, president and co-founder of Dream Town Realty. "We wanted to create a coffee table book that would not only show-off the city, but showcase the artistic talents of the people who live here."

Dream Town encourages amateur, student and professional photographers to participate in the photography contest by submitting their images of Chicago architecture, cityscapes, neighborhoods, entertainment, recreation, sports, landscapes, streets, food and other categories of interest. Only digital TIFF and JPEG files will be accepted, with a minimum file size of 1050 x 700 pixels. To be considered for the Grand Prize cover, the file must be at least 3900 x 2601 pixels.

"We'd like to capture as many different viewpoints of Chicago photography as possible," said Mr. Degani when asked what he envisions for the end product of the photo competition. "From the L overpass by your house to lakefront shots at sunset, every perspective is unique and noteworthy. I think the biggest challenge will be narrowing down the choices to what we can fit in a 60-page book!"

The company plans to distribute the Chicago photography book to clients, as well as make it available to the general public. Submissions for the 2010 photo contest will be accepted now through June 15th. The contest is open to Illinois residents who are 18 years of age or older. Photographers must upload all contest entries on the company's web site (www.dreamtown.com). All Chicago photo submissions will be judged after the deadline and winners will be notified thereafter. No purchase necessary. Certain restrictions apply. For complete, official photo contest rules and to upload photo competition submissions, go to www.dreamtown.com/contest
