About the Book (Excerpts & Info):
If I were to compare my achievements with what other people have accomplished in their lifetimes, mine are negligible; my stories are perhaps not worth sharing. But if I were to compare where my journey started with where I stand right now, I have achieved great things in my humble scale. I have flown upwards from nowhere, as if carried on the strong wings of a giant eagle. My parents’ scarce resources would not have allowed me to become so successful, but my mother’s vision of my success certainly helped to ignite mine.
One key lesson I have learned from my experiences is that all things are possible with vision, determination, and perseverance-even when one comes from nothing. My definition of vision combines a strong element of faith. It is the ability to foresee, believe, and accept the fulfillment of the right things one desires, well before these achievements actually take place. It could take months, years, or decades to transpire from the time the vision is first clearly defined.
Similarly, my understanding of determination contains strong elements of action, hard work, and sacrifice. Entertaining ambitious dreams is good. However, every dream-whatever it might be-can only come true if one is able to convert it into a clear vision, toward which one is determined to walk. A Dream suggests that one is asleep and passive, whereas a Viison indicates that one is awake and active. In reality, only when awake and active can one be productive.
At the age of 23, Kofi was hired by a multinational airline, after being selected first from his country in a competition with over 1200 candidates across a dozen countries. He later completed an International Aviation MBA degree in Canada.
In this his first book, he shares his personal experience of going from nothing to becoming an emerging authority in his field.
