The conference aims to educate engineers, architects, contractors, and others in the construction industry as to key legal issues in North Carolina construction. Ms. Brumback will speak on “Making Changes and Resolving Disputes during the Construction Process”, including constructive change versus ordered change, construction delays, schedule disruption or acceleration, and differing site conditions.

In addition, Ms. Brumback will compare and contrast three commonly used construction form contracts, the American Institute of Architects (AIA) A201, the Engineers Joint Contract Documents Committee (EJCDC) C-700, and the new ConsensusDOCS 200, which replaced many of the forms issued by the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC).

"Change in the middle of a construction project is the number one issue that can evolve into a lawsuit if not handled properly," said Brumback. "This seminar should clear up any confusion and highlight the various change order provisions in commonly used construction contracts."
