Bakersville, NC, April 28, 2010 --(PR.com)-- New original acrylic paintings of bees, trees, flowers and tiny houses will be on display in downtown Bakersville. These contemporary canvas paintings by Tracy Booth are colorful, whimsical and fun. Examples of Tracy's work may be found on her websites, www.TracyBooth.com and www.TinyHousePaintings.com. A reception will be held on May 29th, 2010 at 6pm at Anita's Atelier, located at 14 North Mitchell Avenue and the public is cordially invited to attend and meet the artist.

Tracy, who is originally from Durham, NC, has lived the last five years in Bakersville. Besides painting there, Tracy has made many dear friends and is excited to return for another successful showing of her art. Last year witnessed a nearly sold-out show and this year is expected to do even better with Tracy's new themes.

Tracy has resided in the southern Appalachians for most of the last 18 years. She has lived very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway -- from Roanoke, VA to Asheville, NC and points in between including Boone, NC – and continues to draw much of her inspiration from her beautiful surroundings.

Tracy explains why she chooses acrylics as her preferred medium by saying, "I like to paint thick and it's harder to complete [a painting] in the same time frame if I used oils. Acrylics dry quick and I like that. I also like the multitudes of media available and the effects that can be achieved."
