Dan Fields Participates in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Education’s Principal for a Day Program

Charlotte, NC, April 29, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Lou Jurkowski, CEO at BJAC, pa (www.bjac.com), an architectural firm offering professional services for specialized, complex institutional projects, has announced that Dan Fields, principal at the firm, participated in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Education’s inaugural Principal For A Day program. The program is an effort on behalf of Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools to forge connections with local leaders and encourage a deeper understanding and respect for public education. Participants are assigned a host school and take on responsibilities and activities such as: reading morning announcements, reading to classes, visiting classrooms, having lunch in the cafeteria with students and faculty, as well as sitting in on meetings with parents. Fields served as Principal For A Day at the Morgan School for Exceptional Children, hosted by principal Elaine Jones. Principal For A Day took place on Thursday, March 25.

Details:
- The Principal For A Day (PFAD) program took place on Thursday, March 25. Participants and their host principals met for an orientation from 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. at the Blake Hotel on 555 South McDowell Street in Charlotte. Following the meeting, each PFAD joined his or her host school to participate in activities from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

- PFADs are asked to share observations and provide feedback about the program in a debriefing session that took place on Friday, March 26 from 7:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. at the Blake Hotel.
