Bournemouth Students Quiz MP Candidates on Policies and Music Tastes for Student Radio

Bournemouth, United Kingdom, April 29, 2010 --(PR.com)-- In a first for student radio, Nerve* Radio, run by the Students Union at Bournemouth University, will be broadcasting a special six show series designed to allow the Bournemouth West candidates a chance to speak directly to the student population. The show, entitled ‘Party Political Playlist’, will feature all of the candidates for the Bournemouth West constituency, and will be broadcast in the days running up to the May 6th General Election.

Scheduled to appear in the Nerve* Radio studios are Conservative candidate Conor Burns, Labour candidate Sharon Carr-Brown, Liberal Democrat candidate Alasdair Murray, UKIP candidate Phillip Glover, and Independent candidate Harvey Taylor. The shows will be broadcast over three days, and in each programme regular Nerve* hosts Harry Munday and Liam Southall will be joined by a different candidate for MP of Bournemouth West. Over the hour they will discuss their guests political policies and ideas, with specific focus on the implications for students. The show also aims to find out more about the candidates on a personal level, as all music played in the hour will be chosen by the candidate, allowing their music tastes to be shown as well as their policies.

Harry Munday said, “I think this will be a great chance for the Parliamentary Candidates of Bournemouth West to speak directly to the student population of Bournemouth University, and give each candidate a fair chance to appeal for the student vote.”

Liam Southall said, “I can’t wait for the opportunity to meet the candidates and hear their policies, views, and music choices. This will be a fantastic opportunity for us to judge who we should vote to be our MP.”

‘Party Political Playlist’ will be broadcast on Nerve* Radio between 12-2pm on the 3rd, 4th and 5th May 2010 (with repeats of the days shows each evening between 6-8pm). Nerve* Radio is available online at www.nerveradio.com and around the Bournemouth University campus. The interviews will be filmed for Nerve* TV, the campus television station, and available on YouTube.
