Caberfeidh Productions is proud to present the Rowan Brothers, Chris and Lorin, with award-winning fiddler Sue Cunningham, when they bring bluegrass/newgrass flavored folk and Americana to the Palladium in St. Petersburg.

St. Petersburg, FL, May 04, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Caberfeidh Productions presents the Rowan Cunningham Band in concert on Mother's Day (Sunday, May 9), at The Palladium, 253 Fifth Avenue North, St. Petersburg. Massachusetts-born Chris and Lorin were raised in a musical family that includes their Grammy-winning brother Peter Rowan. The three brothers grew up playing in folk, bluegrass and pop bands and occasionally still play together as The Rowans. Now based in San Francisco, Chris and Lorin are talented musicians and songwriters. Several Rowan songs have been recorded by other artists from Jefferson Starship to Ricky Skaggs.

Sue Cunningham was also raised in a musical family and has been playing music since the age of five. In 1973, her family was named Most Musical Family in America and appeared on the television program To Tell the Truth. With experience in performing and teaching classical violin and bluegrass fiddle, she has been three times named Florida Bluegrass Fiddle Champion. She founded The Hickory Project, a revolutionary experiment in bluegrass that became an international touring sensation and co-wrote many of their songs. Sue recently performed at Suwannee Springfest 2010 in Live Oak with Jim Lauderdale, Jonathan Edwards, Leftover Salmon, Verlon Thompson, Shawn Camp, and Peter Rowan. Sue holds a PhD in mechanical engineering from Carnegie Mellon and is a practicing engineer.

Together, the Rowan Brothers and Sue Cunningham have engineered a new and revolutionary style in acoustic music, creating with guitars, mandolin, and fiddle a rich, vibrant sound that appeals to the Bluegrass/Americana Roots genre. Their passionate songwriting, tight harmonies, and dazzling instrumental work are certain to be a treat for Mom and the entire family.

The concert will be held in St. Petersburg’s beautiful, historic Palladium, a short distance from St. Petersburg’s fine downtown restaurants.
