NSCS Alum Wins $1,500 Award in Social Networking Contest

Washington, DC, May 06, 2010 --(PR.com)-- NSCS alum Jamie Farrell (University of Florida) is the winner of the Brazen Careerist $1,500 NSCS Scholarship Contest. The NSCS member-only contest was created by career networking site and NSCS partner, Brazen Careerist.

NSCS, or The National Society of Collegiate Scholars, is an honors organization for high-achieving first- and second-year college students, with over 675,000 lifetime members at 250 universities across the country.

NSCS members on Brazen Careerist were encouraged to share their ideas, blog posts and tweets as well as invite friends to join the Brazen network. The recipient of the $1,500 scholarship was the most actively engaged NSCS member; Ryan Paugh, Brazen Careerist’s Community Manager served as judge.

Farrell quickly became one of the most active and engaged members by using every means to connect and share ideas available, from importing her Wordpress blog into her profile to sharing in discussions with other Brazen members. Farrell is now listed as one of Brazen Careerist’s Top Users.

“We want to congratulate everyone who participated in this contest,” said Paugh. “Not only did some great conversations come out of it, but it also helped the NSCS network become one of the most popular networks on the site!”

Farrell currently resides in Dallas, TX. She earned a BS in Psychology and a BA in Education while attending the University of Florida from 1999 to 2003. She now works as a marketing consultant after working for several years for Kaplan and Higher Ed Holdings, respectively.

Brazen Careerist is a social and career networking site for Generation Y professionals and recent graduates. Using Brazen, members can consolidate their online image and allow their thoughts and opinions to speak as loudly as their traditional resume.
