Hair Whisperers™ Expands Head Lice Removal Options in Southern California with the LouseBuster™ Device

The Hair Whisperers announces its exclusive Southern California distribution rights for The LouseBuster™ device.

Los Angeles, CA, May 06, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Hair Whisperers, a Southern California head lice removal service, today announced that it has signed an exclusive Southern California distribution agreement with Larada Sciences, the makers of the LouseBuster™ device. This revolutionary FDA-cleared device provides a new, chemical-free way to kill head lice and eggs using only controlled, heated air. Clinical studies show that the device provides a safe, fast and highly effective method to kill all stages of head lice – including their eggs*.

Larada Sciences, a science-based medical technology company dedicated to the safe elimination of head lice infestations, supplies its LouseBuster™ device directly and through select distributors in the USA, and exclusively through distributors outside the USA, including Canada, the United Kingdom and other European countries. The treatment will be available through a network of company-run service providers and through certified lice treatment service providers and distributors around the world. The LouseBuster™ device will also be sold to professionals for use in schools, clinics, camps and other places where lice are commonly diagnosed or treated.

The LouseBuster™ device was conceived by evolutionary parasitologist, Dr. Dale Clayton, who offers, “The LouseBuster™ treatment is a practical, ecological approach to killing head lice. Our clinical trials, based on a robust experimental design, show that the application of a sufficient volume of controlled, heated air at a specific temperature is extremely effective at killing lice, including virtually All of their eggs, during a single 30-minute treatment. The treatment works by dehydrating lice and their eggs, driving off water that is essential to sustaining life. Unlike chemical treatments, to which many strains of lice have evolved genetic resistance, this approach is very likely to be 'evolution-proof.' Water is too fundamental a component of the physiology of head lice for them to evolve a way around this level of dehydration."

“We are pleased to offer another safe, non-toxic lice removal option for our clients,” said Amy Goldreyer, Founder of Hair Whisperers. Hair Whisperers already offers in-home lice treatment using a manual, wet-combing process currently recognized as the most effective way to get rid of both lice and nits without the use of potentially harmful over-the-counter or prescription products. Hair Whisperers will continue to remove lice manually for customers who are 3 years or age or younger, but will offer the LouseBuster™ treatment to all customers 4 years and older.

Goldreyer adds, “Families often feel overwhelmed when head lice is diagnosed in their family. They just want to get back to life as soon as possible while getting rid of lice in a safe, but effective way. By offering the LouseBuster™ treatment followed by a thorough comb through we allow people to get rid of lice and get back to their lives in less than an hour.”
