American Health Launches Program to Meet Ohio Public Schools’ Best Practice Standards

Worthington, OH, May 06, 2010 --(PR.com)-- American Health Holding, Inc., an Ohio-based, multi-URAC accredited medical management service provider, today announced the launch of its Best Practices Program, which is designed to help Ohio Public Schools improve employee health, minimize health care costs, and meet the Ohio Best Practice Standards.

The standards went into effect for health plan years beginning on or after January 1, 2010 and require Public Schools to offer a number of benefits to plan participants, including Lifestyle Coaching, Disease Management Coaching, and Biometric Testing. The School Employees Health Care Board, which recommended the State implement these standards, notes, “The goals of best practices are to derive the greatest value in purchasing health insurance and health care and improve the health of public school district employees and their families.”

“We are excited by the opportunity to partner with Ohio Public Schools,” states Paul Lavin, American Health’s President. “As a Columbus-based company, we are uniquely positioned to collaborate with our neighboring schools. By helping employees and their families become healthier, we are able to not only enhance their quality of life but to also positively impact the culture of health in our children’s schools.”

American Health’s Best Practices Program is an extension of the organization’s Disease Management and Lifestyle/Wellness programs. Packaged into mix-and-match bundles, the Best Practices Program provides flexibility to let districts choose the level of Biometric Testing, Lifestyle Coaching, and Disease Management Coaching intervention that is most cost-effective and appropriate to help their districts meet the State’s standards.

American Health has created a special Web site at www.OhioBestPractices.com that describes its Best Practices Program. In addition, Richard Hodsdon, the Company’s Regional Sales Vice President, will be exhibiting American Health’s programs at the School Employees Health Care Board Educational & Training Conference on May 12 at the Hyatt Regency Columbus.
