)-- Spearstone today announced Android remote wipe, SMS, and GPS monitoring support to their DiskAgent line of products. DiskAgent protects mobile devices by enabling owners to execute remote actions, including wiping, disabling or locking them if they are lost or stolen. DiskAgent Mobile currently supports Android, iPhone, Blackberry, Windows Mobile and Palm devices, with Symbian support planned for release later this year.
"Smartphones hold personal and company email, contacts, photos and other sensitive data, therefore the risks associated with loss or theft have increased dramatically," said Hayden Hartland, Spearstone CEO. “DiskAgent protects the data on these devices and gives our customers overall confidence in the security of their mobile devices."
DiskAgent protects a mobile device that is lost or stolen by empowering users to initiate remote commands from the DiskAgent online portal or by calling the hotline to prompt protective measures. The device is immediately instructed via the cellular network to wipe itself and confirm completion so that the customer is assured their instructions were carried out successfully. DiskAgent is a lightweight service on the mobile device, which listens for remote commands.
Other DiskAgent Mobile features include, Make it Ring, which forces the phone to ring even while set to vibrate (helpful for misplaced phones) and Lock It, which locks the phone and requires the user to enter proper credentials.
Spearstone is currently offering a free 30-day trial offer on DiskAgent services. To take advantage of this offer or for more information, visit www.diskagent.com or call (877) 375-2468.
