Brooklyn, NY, May 10, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Brooklyn Children’s Theatre (BCT), a children’s musical theatre program that presents new and original works written by local writers, will be performing Urban Legends on Friday, May 21st and May 22nd at St. Savior’s Church in Brooklyn. Proceeds will go to benefit the BCT Scholarship Fund.

Urban Legends is a collection of five original musical vignettes that incorporate elements of modern and historical legends, careers, cityscapes and urban life. All pieces will be performed by BCT student actors ranging in age from first grade through tenth.

Urban Legends: A Teacher’s Nightmare, The Apartment at 401 W. 92nd St., The Editor’s New Clothes, Pandora’s Box, Under The Lemon Moon and a preview of their upcoming June performance of the classic Alice in Wonderland.

“Each student cast is so diverse, we’ve watched them develop relationships amongst their theatrical peers that have grown into mini-communities outside of the ones they live in,” said Amy White Graves, Co-Founder - Executive Director, Brooklyn Children’s Theatre. “Urban Legends offers a wide range of themes that showcase all their talents. We encourage all families, friends and the New York City community to experience a cast of more than 100 very talented actor students as they bring these original and inventive mini-musicals to life.”
