It’s “Simply Good”

New company shaking up the world of mobile apps

Toronto, Canada, May 12, 2010 --(PR.com)-- What do you get when you combine passion, innovation, creativity and a lot of geek-speak? A company that’s Simply Good. Period.

POIfriend Inc., innovator of the unique point-of-interest community poifriend.com, and Simply Good Technologies, developer of the ground-breaking image recognition system Capturefy(C), have combined forces to create Canada’s newest leader in the world of mobile enhancement.

The new company, Simply Good, will focus on expanding the range and scope of interactive mobile applications it brings to market. Using the best of image capture/upload capabilities, GPS technology and social connection, Simply Good is redefining the consumer’s mobile experience and creating boundary-shifting brand-engagement opportunities for marketers.

“The mobile world has evolved at an incredible rate and businesses are beginning to pursue the inherent value of integrating mobile applications within their marketing efforts,” says Bill McLean, co-founder and Chief Market Guy, Simply Good. “At Simply Good, we’re leading the way in creating new opportunities for businesses to engage with consumers by using integrated mobile technology. This delivers more relevance of location-based content for the user.”

Application innovation
A prime example of Simply Good’s innovation was highlighted at the Scotiabank Nuit Blanche contemporary art event in Toronto (October 2009), whereby smartphone users were able to obtain exhibit information simply by snapping a photo from the printed guides or posters. The app also allowed visitors to rate exhibits, vote for their favourites, obtain location-specific information and recommendations on exhibits, access photo collections and discussion forums, and more.

The Scotiabank Nuit Blanche application earned Simply Good a finalist nomination in the 2009 Canadian New Media Awards in the category of Best Location-Based Service.

“Simply Good will continue to innovate on the cutting edge of mobile-enabled technology,” says Winston Mok, co-founder and Head of Product Realization, Simply Good. “Our company is driven to develop new technologies designed to positively influence consumer behaviour.”

Simply Good focuses its efforts around three fundamentals:

Redefining Navigation – Point-of-interest content is integrated into the existing technology of smartphone devices (for the purpose of finding and navigating to a target location), making the use of these devices simple and consistent.

Mobile Innovation – An exceptionally thorough understanding of iPhone, BlackBerry and Android architectures allows Simply Good to develop creative, unique and easy-to-use interfaces and applications for these mobile devices.

Consumer Participation – The underlying success of any mobile-enabled platform is directly related to the persistent use of it across the broadest target user group possible. Simply Good’s entire development approach focuses on delivering creativity and utility to the target audience. This includes driving audiences to sponsored events, invoking participation and contribution, or geo-targeting offers to be acted upon at participating locations.
