Score Five Announces Free Online World Cup 2010 Prediction Game

Score Five is proud to announce the opening of their free online World Cup 2010 prediction game, open to players worldwide, with great prizes.

Hong Kong, Hong Kong S.A.R., May 13, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Score Five, the premier global football prediction game, has opened its free World Cup Finals game for pre-registration. The game, which will be the largest and fastest that Score Five has ever run, will build on the experiences of running online prediction games for both Association Football and Australia Rules Football since 2008.

Prizes

As has become a Score Five tradition, a large number of prizes will be available. Players can win prizes in a number of ways, including leading the overall competition at the close, getting the highest score in an individual round, or even being a lucky winner of a random prize for active players. Prizes on offer include flights, cash and football memorabilia from Score Five's partners at http://www.icons.com. The game, and the chance to win, is open globally, and existing players hail from well over 100 countries worldwide.

The game

Score Five's unique easy-to-understand, user friendly prediction system has been carried over largely intact from the seasonal football game, with players predicting the result of every match in the tournament and receiving points based on the accuracy of their predictions. Each match can earn the player up to 5 points (a 'Perfect Five'), and the player can nominate a single match in each round as their Banker to potentially earn another 5 points for that match. Should a player fail to predict in any round, the Five Lives feature will kick in, and the player will automatically receive a prediction chosen by Score Five's in-house master predictor, 'Magic' Mike.

As a new feature in the World Cup Finals game, the players are also being asked to predict the winners and runners-up of each of the 8 Group Stage tables, with an extra 24 points potentially available - easily enough to tip the result of a close finish one way or the other. To guide them in their predictions, players can view statistics on how other players have predicted, and how the Score Five experts have called the games. Players may also choose to receive various notification emails to make sure they don't miss any games.

Pundits
The World Cup Finals game will, as ever, be under the close scrutiny of Score Five's experts, 'Magic' Mike, and 'Prof' Statto, who will be providing their usual pre- and post-match analysis respectively.

'Magic' Mike writes a weekly pre-match prediction column at Score Five, and maintains a more accurate prediction record than other pundits such as the BBC's Mark Lawrenson; like all football fans he is looking forward to this tournament: "The World Cup Finals are the peak of the sport, and always throw up some fascinating fixtures and results. My tip would be to keep an eye on the African teams in this competition - some of them are really top-notch, and playing a little closer to home may well give them the confidence to fulfill their potential."

'Prof' Statto, Score Five's numbers man, has his spreadsheets, calculators, abacuses and historical tables all ready to go: "The World Cup Finals are the most intense 4 weeks of football going, and the statistical events are no less thrilling - did you know, for example, no European team has ever won the World Cup when the finals have been held outside Europe?"

Setup

Nigel Reid, Score Five's owner and operator said "We are starting to get really excited about this summer's tournament. It's going to be the busiest time in Score Five's history. We've got a big screen setup at the office, as well as a bottomless cup of coffee, and we hope our players are going to enjoy it as much as us. In the end, it's all about the football, but you could win one of our great prizes if you really know and love the game - or even if you play and get lucky. Come join us for the ride!"
