Habitat Architecture is now utilizing new Green Building Solutions learned at the Wood Solutions Fair in Minneapolis

Eden Prairie, MN, May 13, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The recent Wood Solutions Fair was held in Minneapolis by WoodWorks, an initiative of the Wood Product Council. Many aspects of Green Building and environmentally conscious policies and ideas were discussed during several related seminars and exhibition during the fair. Some of the noteworthy seminars included topics such as Sustainable Design for Commercial and Multi-family buildings, Reducing Moisture Problems in Buildings, Fire protection Principles for Wood-Framed Structures and use of Structural Insulated Panels; SIPs.

Hamid Kashani – AIA, the principal architect of Habitat Architecture, one of the leading architectural firms in the area of sustainable design and green approach to residential architecture was in attendance and received many new and innovative ideas for wood framed structures in residential, commercial and mixed-use applications.

Green Building standards and appropriate credit for the use of wood within the LEED and Green Globes were discussed in length as well as the use of wood in green building context. The scientific measurement of Green was introduced through discussion of Life Cycle Assessment; LCA, which is becoming the world standard for evaluating the sustainability of material and assemblies which is improving environmentally-based decision making. Examples of challenging issues of climate change and human comfort were also discussed.
