)-- Interconnect 365, as a premiere wireless integration partner with Mesh Dynamics has developed a functional wireless solution for border control and surveillance along the U.S. Mexico border in Douglas, AZ. Interconnect 365 in partnership with Mesh Dynamics is proposing to deploy an all encompassing, complete solution for border control using the same technology used in Douglas, AZ along the entire Southwest Border.
Interconnect 365 and its partners are leading providers of end-to-end broadband wireless systems that deliver the quadruple play of data, voice, video and mobility. Interconnect 365 is 100% focused on wireless technology, and that singular focus enables the provision of a complete portfolio of WLAN, Wi-Fi mesh, WiMAX (point-to-multipoint), and point-to-point technologies. Interconnect 365’s end-to-end product portfolio enables partners to custom-build the wireless solution that fits customers' specific needs. Enterprises, service providers, carriers, government entities, educational institutions, healthcare organizations, municipalities and other organizations that need high-performance, secure and scalable broadband wireless could use Interconnect 365’s broadband wireless equipment.
MeshDynamics provides the network infrastructure to make a fully distributed IP surveillance system possible for cameras, video servers, storage clusters, custom applications and remote viewing to be located in any location. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and SPAWAR engineers selected MeshDynamics Wi-Fi mesh nodes to provide remote video surveillance for stationary and vehicle mounted cameras along the US national border.
In similar applications, UK, Israeli and Canadian defense agencies have also selected MeshDynamics for wireless video surveillance applications in those countries. MeshDynamics recently designed a series of fixed-location MD4000 mesh nodes that provide connectivity to additional MD4000 mobile-mesh nodes in security vehicles where border agents may access a variety of applications. The network consists of both fixed and mobile nodes operating at both 5.8 GHz and 2.4 GHz using 802.11a and b. The fixed nodes are located on towers along the border and some are deployed with sectored antennas for long-distance connections. Backhaul node-to-node distances range up to 14.4 miles, although most are in the 3- to 4-mile range. Some of the wireless mesh sites are so remote that there is no AC power supply, so solar arrays, wind power, and batteries power the equipment. Interconnect 365 provides specialized managed switch support in the nodes for long-distance 802.11 connectivity that allows links to operate at up to 54 Megabits per second (Mbps), according to company executives.
"It is embarrassing to see the amount of money the American people have paid for a "secure border technology solution" which does not work. Mesh Dynamics solution, which is in place and is fully operational in Douglas, AZ should be the technology deployed across the entire US Southwest Border. Interconnect 365 is the only wireless integrator who understands the full aspects of what a complete SMART wireless US border should look and feel like." William Michael Hadala, CTO Interconnect 365
The initial program in Douglas, AZ network was recently expanded since its first deployment in January 2006. The wireless solution provides a foundation for expanding border-security solutions.
