Child1st Publications Releases New Series of Children's Photo Books

Child1st Publications recently released the first books in a series of picture books designed to model healthy physical activity and family relationships.

Lincolnton, NC, May 16, 2010 --(PR.com)-- According to the publisher's webpage for Eli's Books, the photo picture books "model an environment that is nurturing to a child as he develops in body, mind and spirit. In our busy society, technology often replaces active outdoor play, social interaction with peers, and time with parents as they impart life skills. Rich experiences such as these enable children to develop in harmony with their unique design." The books, written by Jeanette Gray, and photographed by Elizabeth Gray Earl, center on one main character named Eli, a very young boy that is constantly exploring the world around him. Several of the titles are about seasons, while others include a day of cookie-making with grandma, an afternoon of exploring sounds and making music, and a time when Eli learns about self control while feeling particularly cross. The series currently contains 8 titles, but Child1st is planning to publish more in the future.

"We are particularly proud of Eli's Books as they are a photo diary of the growth and development of a real child," said Sarah Major, CEO of Child1st Publications. "These are picture books that seek to show rather than tell how we as parents can provide an enriched environment for our children from birth on up. In this day of jump starts for babies (Baby Einstein, for example) Eli’s Books come as a welcome respite from the emphasis on teaching toddlers facts that will help them get ahead in school. The enrichment I refer to has to do with developing the child, body, mind, and spirit in ways that will lead to excellence for all of life. It involves not just book learning, but whole-person development."

Child1st Publications is a North Carolina based company that designs and sells multisensory educational materials targeting beginning and remedial learners, specifically those who would otherwise constitute the failing portion of educational test results. Child1st integrates explicit phonics instruction with specific strategies (visuals, movement, storytelling, humor, rhyme, and patterns) to engage children with an array of learning strengths. The products are specifically designed to help visual learners and other right brain learners, those labeled with dyslexia, autism, Asperger's, ADD, and those who struggle with reading comprehension. Child1st's products are also highly effective in teaching beginning readers, building a strong foundation for future learning. Innovative materials include SnapWords™ products (stylized sight words--words that appear most often in children's texts), SnapLetters™, and the Easy-for-Me™ Reading Program. Also suitable for those learning English as a second language, Child1st's materials have been used by clients from Malta to Mexico, and the company is quickly building a strong Asian market.
