Studio Art Classes at the Erie Art Museum

Art Classes forming now-- Summer Semester begins June 14.

Erie, PA, May 27, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Erie Art Museum offers art classes and workshops for children and adults year-round. Beginning on Monday, June 14, 2010 the Museum offers classes ranging from Photography to African Drum and Dance.

Classes are available to beginners and more experienced artists and are offered in quarterly sessions lasting three to ten weeks. Professional artists teach all Museum classes. African Drum and Dance
Wednesdays for 4 weeks, starting June 16 from 5:45 – 7 p.m.

Beginning Digital Photography
Mondays for 6 weeks, starting June 14 from 7 – 9 p.m.

Advanced Digital Photography
Thursdays for 6 weeks, starting June 17 from 7 – 9 p.m.

Introduction to Photoshop Elements
Tuesdays for 6 weeks, Session A starting June 15 from 7-9pm, Session B starting June 27 from 7-9pm

Beginning Acrylic Painting
Tuesdays for 7 weeks, starting June 15 from 5:30 – 7 p.m.

Painting in Acrylics or Oils
Tuesdays for 7 weeks, starting June 15 from 7:15 – 9:15 p.m.

Indian Embroidery and Design
Wednesdays for 6 weeks, starting July 21 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Watercolor Painting
Thursdays for 6 weeks, starting June 17 from 12 – 3 p.m.

Beginning Drawing
Thursdays for 6 weeks, starting June 17 from 5:30 – 7 p.m.

New Approaches to Life Drawing
Thursdays for 6 weeks, starting June 17 from 7 – 9 p.m.

Oriental Painting
Mondays for 6 weeks, starting June 14 from 4 – 6 p.m.

Framing Basics Workshop
Workshop A: Tuesday July 20; Workshop B: Wednesday July 21; 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Needlepoint Mounting Workshop
Tuesday June 22 from 4 – 6 p.m.

Indian Embroidery Workshop
Saturday, August 14 from 9 – noon

About the Erie Art Museum
The Erie Art Museum anchors downtown Erie’s cultural and economic revitalization, occupying a group of restored mid-19th century commercial
buildings, including an outstanding 1839 Greek Revival Bank. It maintains an ambitious program of 15 to 18 changing exhibitions annually, embracing a wide range of subjects, both historical and contemporary and including folk art, contemporary craft, multi-disciplinary installations, community-based work, as well at traditional media.

The Erie Art Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. Admission is free for members, free on Wednesdays, $4 for adults, $3 for senior citizens and students and $2 for children under 12.
