About the author:

The author graduated from Fork Union Military Academy in 1949 and served forty years in the U.S. Army Officers Reserve Forces while earning B.A., M.Div., M.S., and Ph D degrees. He is retired as Chaplain (Lt. Col.), U.S. Army, and as pastor of Baptist Churches in Virginia and North Carolina. Dr. and Mrs. Allen, the former Patricia Bransford of Fork Union, have served as Military Missionaries with Campus Crusade for Christ International since 2003.

Dr. Allen is a native of Richmond, Virginia. He and his wife live in Smithfield and minister throughout the Tidewater military complex. They have four grown children, fifteen grand-children and eight great-grandchildren.
