Infogix Executive Presents Information Systems Audit Control Association's SC Midland Chapter Meeting

Infogix’s Ramon Nayar presented: Streamline Audit with Independent Automated Information Controls.

Naperville, IL, May 27, 2010 --(PR.com)-- On May 5, 2010, Ramon Nayar, Group Leader of Customer Development at Infogix presented a Continuing Education training session to the Information Systems Audit Control Association’s (ISACA) SC Midlands Chapter at Blue Cross Blue Shield South Carolina’s campus. In his session, “Streamline Audit with Independent Automated Information Controls,” Nayar discussed independent automated controls, as well as best practices for designing end-to-end controls, and Continuous Controls Monitoring (CCM) in the right context. During the session he provided attendees with a comprehensive understanding for planning the implementation of independent automated information controls, as well as controls design methodology and best-practices related to end-to-end controls. In addition, he discussed the need for a common definition of CCM to address the needs of the audit and business community and outlined a roadmap of what CCM could become.

During the session attendees learned how to:

Identify the difference between automated controls and independent automated controls.
Leverage independent controls to align your internal control environment with controls frameworks such as COSO and COBIT.
Streamline audit activities using independent controls.
Design end-to-end controls to mitigate information risk, reduce audit costs and increase automated control coverage.
Understand the key criteria and factors for CCM.

“I look forward to sessions like this providing a glimpse into the best practices that have helped many organizations to deploy end to end controls and controls monitoring solutions,” said Nayar. "ISACA provides a unique opportunity to share information controls trends and opportunities, and we are honored to be a part of the speaker line up."

Sue Rusher, President of the SC Midlands Chapter of ISACA, concurred. “Ramon presented background information and facts about Independent Automated Application Controls. The material was thought-provoking and opened up a world of possibilities about controls that previously attendees thought existed only in an ideal situation. We look forward to having Ramon return and train on how to design these end-to-end controls.”

Infogix has presented at several local and national ISACA events including an upcoming session to the Research Triangle Chapter of ISACA on June 9th, 2010.
