Dig This® Launches “Mega Days” in Denver

Steamboat Springs, CO-based heavy equipment theme park takes super-sized thrills on the road

Steamboat Springs, CO, May 27, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Dig This®, the nation’s first-and-only recreational heavy equipment dirt-moving compound, is super-sizing its signature giant sandbox experience with the introduction of “Mega Days” on Father’s Day weekend in Denver, CO.

Dig This “Mega Days” participants will operate huge Caterpillar 330 hydraulic excavators and D7 & D8 track-type bulldozers, equipment almost twice as large as the ones found at Dig This’ Steamboat location. After an operational and safety orientation, participants will get behind the controls in climate controlled, radio monitored cabs and maneuver equipment in individual work areas for 20 minutes. Operational sessions cost $130.00 each.

“We’ve rounded up some of the largest earth-moving machines in the Caterpillar arsenal for Mega Days,” said Ed Mumm, Dig This founder and CEO. “For non-industry folks this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play with massive equipment. Our hope is to see the Denver area event lead to future Mega Days events in other regions.”

The Mega Days special event represents the first time Dig This has taken operations off-site from Steamboat Springs, CO. Scheduled for June 19th and 20th, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm each day, Mega Days will be held at the Wagner Equipment Company facility at 18000 Smith Road in Aurora, CO.

Dig This’ Steamboat Springs location has fulfilled the dreams of individuals and corporate groups from around the USA and abroad, providing the ultimate venue to rumble around the world’s largest sandbox commanding the controls of Caterpillar D5G bulldozers, 315 excavators and skid steer loaders.

Did This’ inspiration came to New Zealander Ed Mumm, while he was operating heavy equipment to construct his home in Steamboat Springs, CO. After having fun clearing trees and scrub oak, constructing a road, building a pond, and digging foundations, he realized the potential for a business opportunity and the concept for Dig This formed. The adventure-based facility, located in Steamboat Springs, CO, opened in December 2007.
