New Abstract Art Exhibition by Lynne Taetzsch

Ithaca, NY, May 28, 2010 --(PR.com)-- You’ll find new forms, colors and energy in the latest abstract art of Lynne Taetzsch at the CAP ArtSpace in June. The reception from 5:30 to 8 pm June 4th coincides with First Friday Gallery Night in Ithaca, New York.

Lynne usually likes to work in a square format, which fits her non-representational style of painting best. These eight new canvases, however, are in a vertical format. “When I paint horizontally, I feel landscape,” Lynne says. “Vertical presents other problems.”

Lynne sees her art as “problem solving,” or getting the chaos of her improvisational painting approach to come together in a final form that works compositionally. “You need to get a balance without destroying the natural energy of gestural painting,” she says.

Lynne’s art can be seen on her website at http://www.artbylt.com. She has exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the U.S. and her work hangs in private homes, offices, and public institutions throughout the world.

“New Abstract Paintings” will be on exhibit at the CAP ArtSpace from June 3rd to June 29th at 171 The Commons. Hours are M-S 10-5:30, Sunday noon – 5pm.

The CAP ArtSpace is a program of the Community Arts Partnership of Tompkins County, www.artspartner.org.
