Both TVS and TV4U are owned by Margate Entertainment LLC. Margate Entertainment is an audio and video content provider for new electronic media. It’s predecessor company, Continental Communications, Inc. was formed in New Jersey in 1972 to acquire and distribute television programming to cable TV networks at the beginning of that industry.

The company supplied the first sports channel to CATV companies “All Sports/All Day” beginning in 1973. It produced the first live national commercial cablecast in 1975- a WHA Hockey Game- with the advent of satellite TV delivery. It supplied bulk programming to fledgling cable networks from 1979 to 1997 –from the USA Network to the Classic Sports Network. It produced the first Pay Per View programming, LSU football, in 1982 and was enlisted through Video Techniques (now owned and operated by Margate) to help launch the first Wrestlemania pay per view program.

By the 1990’s the company had acquired more that 20,000 TV and music masters and had acquired the TVS Television Network, which became the parent company. During that time, TVS became the largest producer of budget home video, being distributed by no less than seven different home video labels including Front Row, Simitar, Goodtimes, Brentwood, Diamond, MnTex, and K Tel. In the mid 90’s, TVS acquired RKO Records, which formed the base of a 56 record label music catalog, which was distributed by MCA (now Universal) Music. In 1997, TVS produced the first live worldwide IPTV video programming, the 30th Anniversary of the Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood. This event, produced for Rolling Stone Magazine is famous for bringing the fledgling internet to a halt because of the number of worldwide viewers.

In 2004, TVS, RKO, and the rest of the entities were folded into Margate Entertainment to best distribute programming to the emerging digital media age. TV4U.Com was formed in 2005 to package IPTV networks and has been the longest, continuous, successful IPTV network in the USA. Today, the TV4U.Com network is 48 IPTV channels, each a specific genre.

In 2007, TV4U became the first general interest IPTV service to be embedded in computers when the 15 channel TV4U on HP service was launched to all HP Laptops.

In 2008 TV4U expanded to DISH Network and in 2009 to Sling.Com services.
