Studio Z Gives Smashing Gumby Anniversary Party

When Joe Clokey and Holly Harman (son and step-daughter of Art Clokey) called on Studio Z to set up Gumby's 50th birthday party, their idea of an intimate cake and ice cream party for Art Clokey and the Gumby animators turned into more of a GUMBY rebirth and revival. The event took place August 5th and 6th, 2005 at STUDIO Z's freshly rennovated locale on 11th and Folsom in San Francisco's SOMA - the city's best kept secret for nightlife events. San Francisco, CA, August 11, 2005 --(PR.com)-- When Joe Clokey and Holly Harman (son and step-daughter of Art Clokey) called on Studio Z to set up Gumby's 50th birthday party, their idea of an intimate cake and ice cream party for Art Clokey and the Gumby animators turned into more of a GUMBY rebirth and revival. The celebration took place August 5th and 6th, 2005 at STUDIO Z's freshly rennovated locale on 11th and Folsom in San Francisco's SOMA - the city's best kept secret for nightlife events. Smash Mouth rounded off the event Saturday night.

Gumby's Party started with a tribute to Art Clokey in the Studio Z Gallery space. In attendance were special friends and family who have been a part of Gumby over the last 50 years. Through out the weekend and into Saturday's Smash Mouth performance, Missing Link Media Ventures planned the event with a twist which incorporated a live to tape performace with an outstanding cast of characters in the Studio Z performance space. The production, conceived by Joe Bretz, Joe Clokey, Fred Thompson and Richard Verdoni and written by Martin Olson with Fred Thompson and Larry Stuhl - pays homage to Gumby in a song and dance tribute by Singer Olivia Olson (From the movie "Love Actaully"), and hosted by comedian extraordinare Kevin Meaney. The unique combination of celebration, captured into a quality performance, along with the fantastic sounds of Smash Mouth has the marks of becoming a cult hit. The production will be aired on the National Lampoon Television Channel, seen by millions of college students.
