)-- Silver linings may be few and far between these days, but corporate cost-cutting has translated into an unexpected boon for an online recruiting company, Ivy Exec. By creating an enviable database of candidates from top schools and companies, Ivy Exec is upending the cost structure of talent acquisition.
“We’re here to help companies reach one of their most critical goals: to find and hire the right people,” says Elena Bajic, Ivy Exec’s CEO and Founder. “We go out every day to find talented candidates. Then we screen them for education, experience and excellence. Our clients are looking for the best, and we provide them exactly that.“
With that mission statement, Ivy Exec promises employers access to an elite group of professionals, without the hefty price tag associated with traditional executive searches. Currently, Ivy Exec boasts a database of over 43,000 candidates, 86% of whom have an MBA from a top twenty program. Basic membership to the site is free, but aspirational candidates beware: there is a real recruiter screening resumes. “Our clients are looking for exceptional candidates and exceptional service. Our recruiters are an integral part of this process,” says Jennifer Jackson, Sales Manager.
Ivy Exec promises the holy grail of hiring options: elite talent, significant time savings, concierge service. Instead of charging tens of thousands of dollars for access, Ivy Exec has differentiated itself from other online solutions based on another criterion: price.
“Instead of paying fifty or sixty thousand dollars to a traditional search firm for one position, our clients can hire candidates with five to twenty five years of incredible work experience for multiple openings —and leave much of their recruiting budget untouched. This is the executive-search model of the next decade. We’re proud to lead this shift,” says Alex Baranpuria, VP of Business Development.
Ivy Exec offers several different service lines to companies at different stages, beginning with job postings and database searches for positions in the 120-200k base salary range, with prices starting at $380 per job posting. Ivy Exec also executes retained executive searches for 15% of the candidate’s base salary— over 50% discount from traditional searches.
“We’ve successfully performed executive searches that would typically go to a top retained executive search firm,” continues Baranpuria. “Bulge-bracket investment banks, leading consultancies, energy companies, top luxury brands- it is impossible to look at any top-ten list in most fields without seeing one of our clients listed. We're showing our clients that the best solution isn't necessarily the most expensive.”
What’s next for Ivy Exec?
“Fifty thousand members, then one hundred thousand,” says Bajic. “We’re over-achievers.”
