)-- Omaha ad agency Redstone animates real-life stories of success in its latest campaign for client College of Saint Mary.
REDSTONE created a campaign of 18 television and radio spots, three of which were produced in Spanish, to tell true stories about the individuals who study, work and teach at College of Saint Mary. A recruiting brochure is also in development and extended versions of the stories appear on the university’s website at csm.edu.
With the assistance of College of Saint Mary representatives, real-life stories from students, professors, programs and events were identified and highlighted in each of the commercials. Each of the stories is unique and unusual.
“We told the story of one professor who interviewed Janis Joplin back in the sixties. One of the students got a NASA grant for a project showing how to turn moon rock into energy,” said Jim Svoboda, a partner at Redstone. “You can’t make up stuff like that, but there’s no better way to show the diversity of perspectives and opportunities for discovery that are available at College of Saint Mary.”
The television commercials, created in a letterbox format, feature a story or a group of stories in the form of animated text and graphics over a bed of uplifting music.
“We purposefully left out a voice over so that the television spots could be an oasis in the commercial breaks,” said Svoboda. “The music is very inspirational. It illustrates the hope and confidence present at CSM. It grabs your attention.”
The REDSTONE account team includes Svoboda, Jeff Kavan, senior art director, Rod Szwanek, manager electronic production and Randa Zalman, senior account supervisor.
