Nashville Artists Hold Benefit for Flood Animals

Event intended to raise $7,000 for Nashville-Area Animal Shelters

Nashville, TN, June 04, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Local artists announce 'Raining Cats & Dogs' will take place on Friday July 2, 2010, at Avenue 9 from 7pm-12am to benefit Nashville-area animal shelters affected by the flood. Recipients are Nashville Humane Association, New Leash on Life, and Bonaparte's Retreat.

Animal shelters have been overwhelmed with the responsibilities of taking care of Nashville animals left homeless by the flood; 'Raining Cats & Dogs' will help some of these shelters with monetary donations earned through a night out for art lovers.

'Raining Cats & Dogs' is spearheaded by Alison Bryant of Classic Party Rentals and Stephanie Saujon Baltz of La Photographie Nashville. With help from their mutual contacts, Bryant and Saujon Baltz will present 'Raining Cats & Dogs' as a nighttime patriotic dance party to include donations from over 40 local businesses and artists that will be sold in a silent auction. DJs Dorian and Brandon Wahl will keep the dancefloor moving. Some of the featured artists and businesses include Manuel, Katy K's Ranch Dressing, Michael Brown, Blackbird Tattoo, McCormick Animal Clinic, and Scott Blair.

In addition to the art show, party-goers will be entertained by crowd performers such as dancers, jugglers, hula hoopers, stilt-walkers and bodypainted models.

'Raining Cats & Dogs' is still searching for food and drink sponsors.

With help from the community, Bryant and Saujon Baltz hope to raise more than $7,000 for this cause.
