Mesa, AZ, June 04, 2010 --(PR.com
)-- 1on1 Boxing Fitness, Mesa's premier boxing fitness facility, today announced details of its youth boxing program.
The 1on1 Boxing Fitness Youth Boxing Program trains kids to be competitive boxers through aerobic and anaerobic conditioning; strength and flexibility training as well as pad and bag work, including heavy, speed and double-end bags.
“I developed the 1on1 Boxing Fitness Youth Boxing Program to give children the opportunity to learn how to box and be a part of a sport that doesn't rely on the team concept,” said 1on1 Boxing Fitness owner and certified sports and conditioning specialist Christopher Terry. “I also want to help kids maximize their stamina and strength while keeping them focused on something positive.”
Open to kids 9 to 15 years-old, the 1on1 Boxing Fitness Youth Boxing Program incorporates basic boxing skills, including footwork and punching combinations; offensive and defensive techniques; jump rope as well as boxing drills. Program participants also learn how to properly wrap hands and use the heavy bag while learning control and coordination.
The two-hour a day, four-day a week program improves children’s ability to focus, confidence, respect, discipline, control and self-defense as they become physically fit in a fun and safe environment.
The 1on1 Boxing Fitness Youth Boxing Program takes place Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. and Saturdays at 11 a.m. and cost $80 a month. Parents can sign their kids up at 1on1 Boxing Fitness at 1815 W. 1st AVE. suite #116 Mesa, AZ, 85202.
