Boca Raton, FL, June 05, 2010 --(PR.com
)-- Bring the kids to Genius Jones in Mizner Park, Boca Raton, at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, June 18th, to meet singer-songwriter Lisa Loeb and hear her perform songs from the world-premiere musical Camp Kappawanna. One lucky family attending the June 18th event will win four free tickets to see Camp Kappawanna, courtesy of Genius Jones.
Loeb, who received a Grammy nomination for her No. 1 hit Stay, co-wrote the music and lyrics for Camp Kappawanna, which tells the story of a 12-year-old girl going away to summer camp for the first time. The singer-songwriter, who recently became a mom, says she was inspired by her own days as a camper.
"Summer camp is one of those life-changing experiences that every child should have," Loeb said. "It teaches you to try new things, explore and make new friends. It won’t always be easy, but you can forge true friendships and make lifelong memories that will stay with you forever."
Camp Kappawanna opens June 17-27 at the Adrienne Arsht Center in Miami and moves to the Epstein Center for the Arts at Nova Southeastern University from July 1-3. Camp Kappawanna is appropriate for ages 7 and up.
