North Carolina Dentist Earns Recognition for Volunteer Work

Dr. Bertrand Bonnick is a North Carolina dentist who believes that the best way for a person to change society is by using his resources to touch one person at a time. This philosophy has led Dr. Bonnick to undertake a number of volunteer projects over the last 25 years – from dental mission trips abroad to free services for needy patients at home.

High Point, NC, June 04, 2010 --(PR.com)-- While most dentists help their own patients by providing quality care through their office, Dr. Bertrand Bonnick has always wanted to do more. For over 25 years, he has volunteered his time, talents and money to helping the less fortunate both at home and in countries like Jamaica and the Dominican Republic. Recently, Dr. Bonnick was recognized for his volunteer efforts by the Organization for International Development, Inc. (OID), a charity organization he helped found.

The OID is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life for people living in the underserved areas of the world. The group is not concerned with only the healthcare and economic needs of the poor, but also with their training, educational and employment needs to help them provide for themselves and their families.

Dr. Bonnick worked with Dr. Roy Streete and Dr. Noel Brown to found the group in 1990, developing the group’s first constitution and serving as the Group Leader for several of the initial trips to Jamaica. Today, Dr. Bonnick continues support the OID through donation of supplies and funds, as well as by serving as Master of Ceremonies at numerous fundraising activities.

“I am both honored and humbled to receive this award from the Organization for International Development,” Dr. Bonnick said. “The group’s drive to serve others has always inspired me to do more to improve the lives of the people I come in contact with every day.”

Recently, Dr. Bonnick has performed mission work in the Greensboro/High Point area by donating his time and skills to different dental organizations for their charity events. For the last several years, he has also sponsored his own Dentistry from the Heart Day where he provides free dental services for those who cannot afford them.

Dr. Bonnick’s office is located at 2783 Hwy. 68 South, High Point, NC. To learn more about “Dentistry with a Heart” or any of Dr. Bonnick’s other charitable work, please call 336-841-0000 or visit http://www.relaxdds.com/HighPointDentist.aspx.
