Habitat for Humanity and Morris Jenkins Finish Up Their 19th Home

Charlotte, NC, June 12, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Charlotte, NC – June 10th, 2010 Morris Jenkins has been partnered with Habitat for Humanity for 10 years and has just completed work on their 19th home. Habitat is a great way for Morris Jenkins to add to the community because each house needs an HVAC system and since Morris Jenkins does nothing but HVAC, it's a perfect fit.

Habitat Charlotte builds affordable homes for low-income families who currently live in inadequate housing. These families put in 300-500 hours of sweat equity on their home, make a down payment and are responsible for monthly mortgage payments. Habitat Charlotte is currently ranked in the top ten in the nation in terms of house production and continues to stand at the forefront of national efforts to fight substandard housing.

Habitat for Humanity was founded in 1976 by Millard Fuller, along with his wife, Linda. To date, they have built over 350,000 houses around the world, providing more than 1.75 million people in 3,000 communities with safe, decent, affordable shelter. How does it work? Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat builds and rehabilitates simple, decent houses alongside their homeowner (partner) families.
