"SambaLá" to Represent Brazil in the Las Vegas Carnival International Masquerader Band Competition

“SambaLá”, the Brazilian Samba School (carnival band), presents “Modern Brazil” for the first international competition of bands in Las Vegas.

Las Vegas, NV, June 12, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Las Vegas Carnival, Inc – has chosen SambaLá Samba School & Carnival Band to represent Brazil in its carnival event on October 10th 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

David Bloom, Vice President of Production for Las Vegas Carnival, comments, “SambaLá is a welcomed representative of the city of Rio, Brazil. SambaLá has had great success in producing a carnival parade in Long Beach over the last 13 years and they are a welcomed competitor to the other bands participating in the carnival competition.”

SambaLá will compete amongst other carnival bands in the all-day carnival competition which includes the masquerader parade of bands is now open to other countries wishing to enter, with cash and other prizes to the winning bands that will be judged by a panel of judges selected from the carnival design and fashion industries, including those involved in dance choreography. SambaLá’s launch of “Modern Brazil” is from their Samba School in Long Beach that works directly with carnival artists and bands in Rio and São Paulo Brazil, producing a Brazilian style carnival in Long Beach since 1996.

The first 100 SambaLá costumes go on sale will see randomly select masqueraders given the opportunity to become the first of 2 to be awarded an all expense paid vacation in Las Vegas, inclusive of airfare, hotel stay for 5 days, VIP access to fetes and an additional costume for a guest. Transportation to and from the event will be via limousine, including 24 hour services of a Concierge during their stay.
