Tenth Annual Autism Speaks 5K Takes Place July 4, 2010 in Potomac, MD

Washington, DC, June 13, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Autism Speaks National Capital Area, the DC chapter of the nation’s largest autism advocacy organization, today announced that it has released for general registration the remaining slots in the Tenth Annual Autism Speaks 5K. All event proceeds will benefit Autism Speaks.

“We are proud to welcome BOWA Builders as the Presenting Sponsor of our tenth annual event,” said Susan Pereles, Autism Speaks’ event director. “Now marking a decade of commitment, the Autism Speaks 5K is a labor of love for our race committee and has become an institution in the DC community. There is something special in running for our cause on Independence Day, as we strive to raise money to improve the lives of the more than one million Americans living with this chronic disorder.”

Last year’s Autism Speaks 5K had over 2,000 participants and raised almost $200,000. The event has both a 5K race and a 1 mile fun walk. Individuals, families, and businesses are encouraged to register online at www.autismspeaks5K.org and start their July 4th holiday with a bang.
