Billboard Magazine Invites Curious Sense CEO, Adam Blumenthal, to Author Op-Ed Piece

After more than fifteen years helping global advertisers develop interactive productions, Adam Blumenthal founded Curious Sense and started to design innovative digital products with entertainment companies. Billboard Magazine asked Mr. Blumenthal to write an Opinion piece for the June 19, 2010 issue.

Durham, NC, June 14, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Adam Blumenthal, CEO and Chief Strategist at Curious Sense, a digital product design studio, today authored an op-ed article at the invitation of Billboard Magazine.

Following the success of several innovative digital products that Blumenthal and his Curious Sense team designed for entertainment companies, Billboard asked Mr. Blumenthal to reflect on his experience working in the music industry, following a long career as a digital strategy and production leader at elite advertising agencies.

In the op-ed article, published on June 11, 2010 on Billboard's web site (www.Billboard.biz) and in the June 19 print edition, Blumenthal shares his observations of music industry communications and product strategies.

"I came into the music industry after spending many years at big ad agencies," Blumenthal remarked. "The great agencies are very sophisticated about the process by which they arrive at compelling ideas - great research, smart strategy, analysis. These are the things that inform the best creative work. I was privileged to spend many years of my career at superb agencies like R/GA and McKinney."

After leaving the ad agency world to start Curious Sense, Blumenthal began spending significant time working with big music industry companies. He observed that the best practices in creative development and new product innovation, especially in the digital domain, were not being applied in the music industry as they are in advertising. As record labels and touring companies struggle with old business models and consumers who have devalued their products, Blumenthal recognized an opportunity to help these companies create new business models.

Blumenthal's Billboard piece reflects this observation, and shares advice about ways to connect with and appeal to the new digital consumer mindset.

In "360-Degree Deals for Fans - Ad Agencies Provide Lessons on Connecting With Consumers," Blumenthal calls upon industry leaders to adopt an R&D spirit and to build communications programs that fulfill the media consumption expectations of today's consumers.

Adam Blumenthal is the founder and Chief Strategist of Curious Sense. During his time working in advertising, the productions he lead earned numerous awards for creative excellence and business effectiveness. He's a frequent speaker at music, marketing, and digital media events including SXSW in 2010.
