Cypress Creek EMS Partners with Houston A+ Challenge Teacher Externship Week

For the Seventh Consecutive Year, Cypress Creek EMS hosted 4 local Teachers for the Houston A+ Challenge Teacher Externship program.

Spring, TX, June 16, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Cypress Creek EMS hosted 4 local teachers for the 2010 Externship Program. The Teacher Externship pairs teachers with business professionals in their field of study, in the end, making students’ learning more relevant to the workplace. After the Externship is complete, teachers spend part of their summer developing lesson plans to share with their students, based on firsthand knowledge and experiences.

At Cypress Creek EMS, the teachers were able to experience every department. Representatives from Administration, Human Resources, Information Technology, Maintenance, Clinical Management, and Special Operations spent time with the teachers, explaining life skills needed by students to be successful in the workplace. Teachers also rode a 12 hour observer shift on an ambulance and spent 8 hours with a Cypress Creek EMS Dispatcher in the Communications Center.
