82% of U.S. Businesses Struggle to Manage Web Performance Due to Increasingly Complex Datacenter Environments

Zeus Launches Zeus Elastic Application Delivery Platform for Better Management / Delivery of Dynamic Web Services across Virtual, Cloud and Multi-site Environments.

San Francisco, CA, June 25, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Survey results released today at GigaOM Structure from Zeus Technology reveal that 82 per cent of U.S. organizations struggle to manage their website and services performance, stemming largely from growing IT complexities like virtualization, cloud computing and multi-site datacenter management. The survey also finds that 79 per cent of respondents lack resources to manage web applications across complex multi-datacenter environments, yet 95 per cent of senior IT professionals surveyed were responsible for it.

Eighty-three per cent of organizations surveyed also admit they’re more concerned about web application performance issues in their virtualized environments than their physical environments. This demonstrates a clear need for solutions that provide deep visibility into how virtual applications are performing.

In response to those challenges, Zeus Technology, the only pure software-based application traffic management (application delivery controller) company, is launching Zeus Elastic Application Delivery platform today, providing businesses with one application delivery fabric across multiple Physical, Virtual and Cloud environments.

Zeus Elastic Application Delivery platform combines Zeus Traffic Manager 7.0 and the new Zeus Multi-Site Manager, for seamlessly delivering fast, secure and available web applications across any IT platform or environment. Zeus Elastic Application Delivery platform is centrally managed from a single dashboard, significantly decreasing the time needed to manage web applications. With the built-in Zeus TrafficScript™, businesses can set and apply specific traffic management rules globally to easily accommodate changing business needs, such as prioritizing incoming traffic from key users.

A new analytics module provides deep, real-time visibility into how applications are performing, while a new auto-scaling feature allows businesses to automatically increase or decrease virtual and cloud capacity based on peaks in demand. This feature also enables companies to burst capacity to the cloud when a physical datacenter is overloaded and automatically scale back when the need decreases. Auto-scaling is initially available in Amazon AWS, VMware vCloud, Rackspace Cloud and RightScale based environments.

“The new Zeus Elastic Application Delivery platform is a very attractive solution. It has exceeded our expectations for flexibility, reliability and performance, allowing us to provide our customers with excellent online services and near 100 per cent uptime,” said Matt Reidy, Director of IT Operations, SnagAJob.com. “We’ve been very impressed with the new features and functionality offered with Zeus Elastic Application Delivery platform, including the traffic management for multi-site environments and auto-scaling. This new release will be a key factor for our internal growth and customer experience.”

“No matter where your users are or where your applications run, the Zeus Elastic Application Delivery platform ensures that your users get the best possible level of service and your applications run as fast and as cost-effectively as possible.” said Paul Brennan, Zeus CEO. “Our users are particularly excited about the ability to auto-scale applications on-demand, even across different clouds, keeping end-users satisfied at peak times while only paying for the instance hours of compute power used – we think this truly unlocks the promise of the cloud.”

The survey, conducted by Vanson Bourne in May 2010, surveyed 100 IT directors and senior managers in the U.S.

Zeus Traffic Manager 7.0 has been in beta trial with selected customers including Gilt Groupe, Joyent, Logicworks, SnagAJob.com, WhitePages and Zoosk. The commercial release will be available in summer 2010.
