Asigra CEO David Farajun Recognized as 2010 Storage Superstar by CRN Magazine

Asigra CEO David Farajun Named 2010 Storage Superstar by CRN Magazine.

Woodland Hills, CA, June 25, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Asigra Inc., a leading Cloud Backup™ and recovery software provider since 1986, today announced that company’s Chief Executive Officer, David Farajun, has been named one of the “2010 Storage Superstars” by CRN Magazine. CRN’s Storage Superstar Awards honor the visionaries and innovators who have contributed genuine breakthroughs to the storage industry, advancing the state of technology.

Farajun was cited by CRN for more than two decades of innovations in the managed backup space since pioneering multi-tenant backup recovery software in the 1980s with an optimized solution for managed backup service providers. He is credited with innovations such as agentless software deployment, unified backup and recovery for physical and virtual environments, global deduplication and advanced service provider features such as integrated billing and SLA management. Through his work, Asigra is now aligned with more than 500 VARs, service providers and technology partners globally including HP Electronic Vaulting Services, Terremark Worldwide, SunGard, NetApp and CDW who en masse have deployed Asigra Cloud Backup at more than 100,000 sites worldwide.

More recently, Farajun spearheaded the development of Asigra Cloud Backup v10, extending its leadership across public, private and hybrid cloud environments with a unified data protection platform that is more efficient and easier to manage than alternative tape or disk-based backup and recovery solutions. The company’s latest generation platform expands the tiers of backup and recovery (Local-Only Backup and Backup Lifecycle Manager (BLM) enabled cloud storage) to align recovery performance and costs with business requirements. It also allows the backup of laptops in the field and other environments for recovery to and from physical, virtual or a mix of physical and virtual servers.

“Solution providers who design and deploy storage infrastructures deal with a technology where change is the only constant,” said Kelley Damore, VP, Editorial Director, Everything Channel. “Small businesses and enterprises alike need to safely store, back-up, recover and archive data and these Storage Superstars are many of the unsung heroes who have helped invent better ways of doing this. Yet many of these individuals seldom get the recognition they deserve. We congratulate all the ‘Storage Superstars,’ and are happy to provide an opportunity to shine the spotlight on them.”

“Being named as a CRN Storage Superstar serves as a barometer for the innovative technologies we are bringing to market to truly make a difference in the industry,” said Farajun. “Our accomplishments are the result of the dedication of our entire team, which includes the commitment of our VAR and MSP partners. Collectively, we are changing the way organizations around the globe ensure data protection.”
