A New Take on the Self Portrait

A self confessed exhibitionist, Ness searched for years for a photographer who was able to capture her as she sees herself. It was a fruitless search and she decided that the only way to realize her dreams was to become the photographer and take her own photos.

Thus was born a series of revealing self portraits, provocative and challenging for both artist and viewer as Ness poses in front of a mirror and clicks away.

“At first I was a little bit anxious, but over time I became more and more self-confident,” Ness said. “I soon discovered how to pose in front of the mirror and when to press the shutter to capture the right moment with the camera,” she added.

“These photographs reveal this 47 year old woman in all her glory, a real person with her emotions to the fore,” said the pissedpoet pics owner Henry Bateman. “It’s Helmut Newton meets Quentin Tarantino but with a female aesthetic,” he added.
