Nema International Signs UCI BMX Silver Medalist Steven Cisar

Groundbreaking deal marks the beginning of a new era for top MTB apparel brand.

Ventura, CA, June 28, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Leading bike apparel manufacturer Nema International announced today the addition of BMX star Steven Cisar to the Nema Team. Cisar, a multiple UCI World Championship medalist, is widely acknowledged as one of the most talented and stylish riders on the BMX scene. The deal signals an expansion for Nema into the growing BMX market, a group currently underserved by existing apparel offerings, which devote most of their efforts to the more visible motocross segment.

“We believe BMX riders shouldn’t have to settle for cookie-cutter products better suited for other sports with a ‘BMX’ tag slapped on them. Core riders have always counted on Nema to offer the best quality and performance designed specifically for them,” owner Erick Kozin commented. “Steven is an amazing rider and great fit for the Nema brand. We are excited to have him be the first athlete signed to our new BMX program and he will be an important part of our growth for many years.”

Cisar shares the enthusiasm: “I'm really stoked on Nema in the way they only make gear for cycling. I believe that I can grow with Nema since I will be the first to introduce them to the world of BMX. They really have good people and they’re willing to help me out. I couldn't be happier that Nema is the brand I chose and I hope to finish my career with them.”

Upcoming plans include Cisar’s ongoing input to drive Nema product development and continuing a busy 2010 race season. Cisar’s first race in the new Nema kit kicks off at the ABA BMX Great Salt Lake Nationals beginning July 2.

About Nema International

Nema International has a proud legacy of industry-leading performance cycling apparel. From the best in function to cutting-edge design, Nema has earned a reputation for providing gear above and beyond expectations.

Since 1994, riders have trusted the brand to deliver the most durable, comfortable, best performing cycling apparel. At that time, Nema rejected the notion that mountain bikers had to be confined to spandex and introduced the Jewel, a.k.a. the Original Baggy Mountain Bike Short, a system that bridged the inner liner to a durable nylon shell. Over the years, the product line grew to offer top performance for the cyclist from head to toe.

Today, Nema continues to design with riders in mind, offering features to enhance pedaling efficiency, breathability, and comfort.
