EPL Skylift Joins the Stars at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel

Lutterworth, United Kingdom, July 02, 2010 --(PR.com)-- London’s exclusive Knightsbridge recently saw one of Lavendon Access Services’ recent stars making an appearance at the world famous five star Mandarin Oriental Hotel. EPL Skylift provided specialist Architectural Inspectors with a T62B vehicle mount to carry out an annual survey on the Victorian building, making sure it retains the same stunning appearance it has had for over 100 years.

Following a site inspection, EPL Skylift’s Jack Vardy, advised the T62B as a suitable machine for a number of reasons. He said: “With work taking place at such a large historical building, it was vital we provided a machine suitable to access all areas of the hotel’s exterior accurately. The T62B offers 62 metres of working height, and with 34.5 metres of outreach, easily provided the necessary capacity to access the building’s façade without moving the vehicle itself from the cordoned off area below. With dimensions of 2.20 x 9 metres, the T62B also easily offered ample platform area for the two inspectors to carry out their work, along with a trained vehicle mount operator provided by EPL Skylift.”

Housed in an historic Edwardian style building, the hotel originally opened its doors to the public as the Hyde Park Hotel in 1902. Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group purchased the hotel in 1996 and conducted a complete renovation of the 198 rooms and suites, as well as a re-design of the restaurants and bar. Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London re-opened in May 2000, and the hotel has since received numerous awards for its facilities and service, including a Michelin star for its signature restaurant Foliage.
