Travel Back in Time with a Strong Heroine from the Cape Ann Coast of Massachusetts

Fishersville, VA, December 10, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Fiction author Nikki Leigh brings the Cape Ann coast of the 1840’s to life in her novel Widow’s Walk. The story begins as the October Gale of 1841 bears down on the coast. She makes last minute preparations for her wedding to her childhood sweetheart, but she’s concerned about her father’s fishing boat which is heading toward the coast. Her concern escalates when she discovers the Stormy View lighthouse is not shining.

Nikki Leigh’s fictional town of Misty Cove is near Gloucester, Massachusetts. This story focuses on Lizbeth Sullivan and her fiancé. Lizbeth’s a strong young woman who faces many obstacles that were common during the 1840’s. Ms. Leigh invites you to come along on the first installment of the Misty Cove Chronicles.

Ms. Leigh explains her choice for the setting for Widow’s Walk. “I had a story in mind for years, but I couldn’t find the right setting. When I visited Gloucester, I knew immediately the rich history and strong people were too compelling to ignore. They would be the perfect accent for the stories I wanted to tell. Come with me on a trip into the history of the Cape Ann coast.”
