xUmp.com Expands Services Into Local Communities Through Hands-on Science Activities

Xump.com, a leading e-retailer of scientific educational supplies and toys, is pleased to announce its newest effort to making a difference in their local community. Xump.com is now hosting a free once-a-month hands-on science activity for kids and parents to participate in at its southern California headquarters.

Long Beach, CA, July 04, 2010 --(PR.com)-- xUmp.com has served the online community for a number of years by providing high-quality scientific educational supplies to a wide variety of retail customers. Now, xUmp.com is adding a free community-based hands-on science program to its services in an effort to create science awareness to children and families.

“We have always craved more direct contact with our customers,” stated Anton Skorucak, CEO and Founder of xUmp.com. “We thought hosting a hands-on science activity would be a great way of getting more face-to-face interaction with our consumers while providing a safe and fun way for parents to spend more time connecting with their children. It’s a benefit to both us and our local community.” xUmp.com is one of the largest online retailers specializing in science supplies and toys, shipping to over 200,000 customers in 105 countries worldwide.

“We have wanted for some time to be more fully engaged in educating young minds to get excited about science,” said Ana Sanchez, Operations Manager of xUmp.com. “Our first event focusing on building a Tin Can Robot was a huge success, and we hope to continue to make an impact on science awareness among children in the southern California area.” Events hosted by xUmp.com will focus on science activities such as robot assembly parties, simple scientific demonstrations, screenings of educational videos, and local field trips that focus on biology exploration, stargazing and more.

Denis, one of the parents who participated in the first event held on June 19th, 2010 at xUmp.com headquarters in Signal Hill, California commented that the activity was “first rate; I am looking forward to more activities of this nature.” Another parent named Christine noted that the event “was a perfect start to our Saturday. The project was age appropriate and my child built the entire robot completely on his own, which he enjoyed doing. This was a nice and different activity we were able to enjoy with a few of our fellow classmates.”
