A German World Cup Triumph Would be a Disaster Says Leading Bookies

Leading UK bookmakers will face a massive payout if Germany win the World Cup in South Africa.

London, United Kingdom, July 07, 2010 --(PR.com)-- William Hill are hoping that Germany don’t win the 2010 World Cup, as the firm have laid some monster bets on Joachim Low’s side lifting the trophy on July 11th.

Hills have taken bets of euro 80,000 and euro 100,000 on the Germans winning the World Cup and the firm have confirmed that a Germany triumph would be their worst possible result.

"We’ve taken a couple of big wagers on the Germans - a euro 80,000 at 14-1 and another one of euro 100,000 at 13-2. Which means we’ll be cheering on the three other teams left in the World Cup," said William Hill spokesman Tony Kenny "If Uruguay go onto to win - it would be our best World Cup result ever."

Germany are now just 2-1 to win the World Cup with William Hill – who also offer 15-8 Spain, 2-1 Holland and 12-1 Uruguay.
