Advance Energises Mitsubishi Power Shipments

Building on a working relationship that spans almost 40 years, Istanbul-based Advance International Transport has moved two consignments of cooling plant modules for Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI).

Istanbul, Turkey, July 14, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The consignments, each consisting of 24 units, was moved from Masan in South Korea to the port of El Ferrol in Spain.

Advance International chartered specialist heavy lift vessel, Fairlift to carry the units, each weighing between 90 to 140 tonnes.

Commenting on the project, Jawad Kamel, Advance International’s President and CEO, said: “This was a textbook movement for a model client. We have worked with MHI since the 1990s. They entrust us with some of their most valuable shipments and on this undertaking, we have again delivered a first-rate service to them.”

The complexity of the movement was reduced for Advance International as both the manufacturing plant and destination were close to the quayside, recalled Mr Kamel.

He said: “The manufacturing plant was close to the port of Masan. In Spain, MHI’s power plant was near to the port of discharge. We utilised special axle line transporters to move the units the short distance inland.”

The consignment took the entire under deck of Fairlift and a temporary tweendeck was created to contain the units. In places, this created three decks in the vessel.

Advance International has a long and successful track record of moving power plants and their components to many countries for MHI, said Mr Kamel.

He said: “Client satisfaction is the thing we most cherish. Repeat contracts are the reward we receive from clients who know they can trust us to deliver heavy haul freight consignments time and time again.”
