E-Business Profits Now Accessible by NZ Hospitality Industry

World leader in internet consulting to showcase opportunities at Hospitality NZ. Online travel services like flight and hotel reservations online are now a critical part of the hospitality industry.

Wellington, New Zealand, August 17, 2005 --(PR.com)-- WSI, the world leader in internet consulting today announced its participation in HospitalityNZ (formerly the National Hospitality Show] to be held at the Auckland Showground, Greenlane, Auckland August 21st – 25th, 2005. Internet Consultants from WSI’s local offices in Auckland, Wellington, Napier & Christchurch will represent the company to present and make available profitable e-business opportunities to the local hospitality industry.

Ron McArthur, President at WSI comments, “With the increasing number of consumers accessing online travel services like flight and hotel reservations online, the industry is not only seeing an upsurge in activity, but has also become fiercely competitive. The only way to remain competitive is to have your business mirror the dynamism of the Internet. As the only Internet consulting company at the HospitalityNZ Show, WSI is excited about presenting local hospitality related organisations with leading edge e-business solutions at affordable prices.”

HospitalityNZ is the premier trade show and the most comprehensive gathering of hospitality suppliers and customers in New Zealand. Each year the show attracts more than 8,000 industry visitors and over 200 trade exhibitors. Visitors to this year’s show will certainly benefit from interactions with the WSI Internet Consultants who will be present at the company’s booth #208 located in Hall 2.  A major attraction for visitors at the booth will be a grand prize draw for a free website valued over NZ$2,200. In addition to online travel services like flight and hotel reservations online, information will be made available for visitors to other complimentary products and services from WSI.

According to the Tourism Association of New Zealand (TIANZ), tourism contributes to 9% of New Zealand’s GDP and is one of NZ largest export industries. Jupiter Research reports that the most common online travel activity by consumers was using the Internet as a research tool for travel destinations, with 63 percent of respondents saying they've done so in the last six months.

With 95% of the world’s hospitality and tourism industry being in the hands of small and medium sized businesses, having a website is critical to their success. Having a website, however, is not good enough. A recent New Zealand court decision penalised a restaurant operator guilty of `misleading advertising’ for neglecting to keep the restaurant’s website content up to date. WSI specialises in developing, designing, redesigning and optimising websites that work, can be found and are always current. Not just a web-provider, WSI offers a complete “partnership,” whereby the company’s local offices in New Zealand also offer post-implementation support and statistical reporting packages in their extensive product catalogue.
