GoDIY's Trenchtown’s Release Party a Full Success

Los Angeles, CA, July 15, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Trenchtown pulled a near-capacity crowd to Lighthouse Cafe on Friday night July 9th to celebrate the release of their new album. The new release is the band’s first under the name Trenchtown and was sponsored by Leblon Liquor and Best Buy.

Coverage from the release party is available at www.trenchtownmusic.com/photos/trenchtown-cd-release-party.

The band performed for close to 4 hours but held interest by beginning the night with a mellow acoustic set before exploding into their take on Rock/Reggae/Punk. The acoustic set included classics ranging from Tom Petty, Steve Miller Band, and Jimmy Buffet to acoustic versions of soCal icons Sublime, Social Distortion, Rancid, and Green Day. Halfway through the night the set took a change of pace when the surf/acoustic sound was replaced with the sound of a Reggae/Ska Punk Rock Show.

Having recently locked down a sponsorship deal with Best Buy endorsing the band as a "Best Buy Band”, Trenchtown, has a been together for over 10 years. Starting under the name Maryz Eyez, the band has been part of 2 Warped Tours and had 2 top five songs on XM Radio Unsigned Channel. At a recent show in Long Beach, Trenchtown opened for Punk Rock greats Unwritten Law and Death By Stereo.

Trenchtown chose producer, Billy Graziadei, of the band Biohazard for the new EP. Although the album took nearly 12 months to complete due to various tours, the album has already gained critical acclaim. The track “Ay Oh” was featured on the newest goDIY Records compilation which can be downloaded for free for a limited time at www.trenchtownmusic.com

Trenchtown has been playing Lighthouse every Friday 4pm-8pm since October of last year. Their residency also continues throughout the summer. All shows are Free and All Ages.
