Clara Schumann’s Piano Concerto Now Available at Music Minus One

Music Minus One is now offering the acclaimed Clara Schumann Piano Concerto in their line of premium accompaniment editions. This Concerto is the first MMO release by a female composer and has been praised by many modern pianists and critics as a unique gem of the German Romantic repertoire.

Elmsford, NY, July 15, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Clara Schumann’s Piano Concerto is now available in Music Minus One’s large catalogue of accompaniment CDs and sheet music, and is available through their global network of dealers and distributors, as well as through their one-stop online store at www.musicminusone.com. This Piano Concerto is the first release of a work by a female composer in the Music Minus One library.

Clara Schumann’s Concerto is a hidden gem of the German Romantic compositions repertoire, and is being rediscovered and championed by many modern pianists, including virtuoso Frederick Moyer. Moyer provides a bravura reference recording on this MMO premiere recording. Also included in the package is the beautiful urtext edition published by Breitkopf & Härtel, edited by Victoria Erber, as well as a four-page full-color foldout that goes in-depth into the creation of the recording, along with a compact disc featuring three versions of the concerto: Moyer’s rendition for study and listening; an accompaniment version without the soloist; and a slow-tempo accompaniment version to help pianists as they learn the piece.

The accompaniment track provided for this premiere accompaniment recording of the Clara Schumann Piano Concerto has been made possible through the talents of Dan Kury, sequencing programmer. Using the advanced synthesizing abilities of the Garritan Personal Orchestra and Garritan Orchestra Strings libraries of instrumental samples, an amazingly realistic orchestral background has been created, allowing this previously obscure title to be brought forth for every pianist’s enjoyment. The magnificently lyrical second movement, which is a duet for piano and ‘cello, features as its accompanist the virtuoso violoncello player William Rounds.
