To reduce the impact on daily production and to spread the financial expenditures over time, Retrotech is upgrading the controls by incorporating a multi-phased approach. This work scope included the ASRM controls, motor and communications replacement along with removing the obsolete maintenance computers at the end of each aisle.
Retrotech was commissioned to build a 75,000 square-foot automated warehouse expansion at LiDestri’s corporate site. Using the ACTIV® System technology, LiDestri was able to increase storage capacity at their facility, eliminate off-site warehousing and keep pace with increasing customer demands.
The ASRMs were exhibiting excessive errors with the majority of them due to positioning faults. The errors were so numerous that SCA Tissue employed dedicated “Crane Chasers” to keep the ASRMs running. SCA Tissue contracted with Retrotech to correct this problem along with other controller and motor-related issues.
Retrotech, Inc. President Peter Hartman remarked “we offer our clients significant value because we never put our need to sell, ahead of their need to solve a problem. This approach has allowed our clients to achieve unprecendent success in the markets they serve. We are happy to be a small part of that success.”
