Upcoming Webinar: the Story Behind the Motion Picture “The Reading Room”

On August 12, 2010 2:00 PM MST Reading Horizons is hosting a webinar presented by Randy Feldman, writer of the motion picture “The Reading Room.” Feldman will discuss his inspiration for the script & storytelling trends in popular entertainment.

Salt Lake City, UT, July 21, 2010 --(PR.com)-- On August 12, 2010 2:00 PM MST Reading Horizons is hosting a webinar presented by film writer Randy Feldman. The webinar is titled: “My Road to The Reading Room.”

Randy Feldman attended the University of California at Berkeley where he majored in English literature and received his B.A in 1977. He has written and produced both motion pictures and television for over 30 years. He has taught at USC, The American Film Institute, Vanderbilt University and is an artist in residence and lecturer at UNLV film school. He has volunteered at the Burbank Public Library as a literacy tutor and is executive director of PORTAL (People Offering Reading Teaching and Literacy).

During the webinar he will discuss the journey that led him to write the Hallmark Channel movie, “The Reading Room.” He will discuss how his experiences inspired him to form his own nonprofit literacy center: P.O.R.T.A.L. (People Offering Reading, Teaching and Literacy). He will also examine the evolution of current storytelling trends in popular entertainment and its possible effects on this generation of learners.
