Tara Lightner Robbins Receives Association Management Degree

Raleigh, NC, July 23, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Tara Lightner Robbins, Director of Governmental Affairs for the Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS, received her Certificate Degree for Strategies in Non-Profit Management from The University of Chicago Graham School of General Studies, which recognizes exceptional efforts made by the REALTORÒ association executives.

Robbins is one of 46 elite REALTOR® association executives who have achieved this mark of excellence. Local and state association executives who have earned the Certificate represent more than 1,120,000 REALTORS® in 48 states in 1,483 REALTOR® associations.

“The University of Chicago Certificate program is an extremely valuable tool for association executives and I am honored to have been given this opportunity to participate,” Robbins said.

Prior to becoming a graduate of the University of Chicago Certificate program, participants in the program must attend six customized classes in association and non-profit management and pass the pre-and post-work assignments for each class. Participants must demonstrate knowledge of areas critical to REALTOR® association management, including strategic planning, performance management, leadership, budgeting and finance, advocacy and lobbying, board governance and developing effective programs.

Robbins has spent sixteen years in association management, specializing in government relations, for state, local and national trade associations. Robbins will receive a diploma from the University of Chicago.
